It was weird though. I don't run the place anymore. Things have happened since I left, people have passed on, new policies have been enacted, employees have come and gone. It's the same, yet different. My boss, the new DON, is a cool, level-headed guy, which I apppreciate. But it's ever so slightly weird working for a man in what has always been a female-dominated field for me. I had the jitters today, just taking it all in and trying to get used to the idea that I'm back.
It will be better once I have a more clean definition of what my job actually entails. This is a new position for them, as well as me, so we're defining it as we go, so to speak. I'll be managing the incident and accident reporting and investigation process, restorative nursing, and infection control as of right now. I'm sure the job will develop more fully as time goes on. My personality wants to know it all, right away, be good at it, and feel comfortable. Right now. I've got to be patient, and be kind to myself.

Wow...you don't let grass grow under your feet do you lady? I am happy for you. do you still have the same Boss Lady? Hope all goes well for you. Bet the last place was sorry to see you go.
Patience (sp) is a virtue my friend. and being kind is such the right attitude. Great post :)
Best of luck dear.
Patience is hard when transitioning. Best wishes to the new (old) job.
i hope the job works out. Seem like you enjoy it. Maybe it won't be as stressful since your not in charge...you can let someone else have that headache.
